Even with the release of a 30 second Super Bowl Teaser, Marvel is keeping their cards close to their chest with details about Avengers Endgame. So much so that comments about the running time of the movie have become newsworthy. Co-director Joe Russo spoke to Collider and confirmed that the current running time is at the three-hour mark.

"We’re still at the three-hour mark, I think the studio is down with what the best story is. Right now, we think the movie is playing well and we’ve had great responses from our test audiences and we’re feeling very good about where it is. We’re still doing work to it. We’re not done with it. Again, this is a culmination film of 22 movies, it’s a lot of storytelling to work into it. Emotion is an intrinsic part of that to us. When you have to tell a really complicated story and you want strong emotional moments with the characters, it just requires a certain amount of real estate. This one, in particular, feels like three hours worth of real estate.”

At this stage, I don't think many fans would mind if Endgame turned out to be five hours long, we just want it to be good, and we want to watch it now ten times in a row. Infinity War clocked in at 2 hours and 29 minutes, and at no time did it feel overlong. Many of the longstanding members of the Marvel cast contracts will expire with Endgame, so we'll have to wait and see who is left standing after the dust settles on Phase Three.

Avengers Endgame is released in the UK on April 25th and arrives in the US the very next day on the 26th. A new trailer is rumored to be included in a post-credits scene in Captain Marvel which lands in cinemas on March 8.
