In a recent interview with Spanish radio station Rac1, Benicio Del Toro, known for films such as Snatch and The Usual Suspects, confirmed that he will have a role in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII. He wasn’t too keen on giving much away about his character, but he said that he was “like a villain”. He either doesn’t know too many details or isn’t allowed to share many details, because he said, “Star Wars is coming up, we will see how that turns out. I think we start shooting in March”.
Benicio Del Toro was recently supposed to be the villain in Star Trek Into Darkness, but dropped out shortly before filming started. Let’s hope the same thing doesn’t happen with this film. Star Wars: Episode VIII will be directed by Rian Johnson, of Looper fame. It will be released in theatres on May 26th, 2017.
