Rick and Morty's eagerly awaited fourth season will have a new UK home when it eventually returns later this year (maybe). In a massive deal with Turner's Adult Swim, Rick and Morty will be one of the dozens of shows from their library that will be coming to both Channel 4 and its sister channel E4.

The first three seasons will start airing on E4 next month in what Deadline describes "as part of a deal that will see hundreds of hours of Adult Swim content being made available to stream for free on digital service All 4." No other titles have been confirmed (beyond Robot Chicken: The Walking Dead Special), but full seasons of Robot Chicken, Mr. Pickles, and The Venture Brothers are all prime candidates to be added.

Currently, Netflix is the exclusive home of Rick and Morty for international distribution; if you have a Netflix account, you might have noticed that episodes of the show keep being removed then added back a few days later. Owing to ongoing licensing discussions, the future of Rick and Morty on Netflix is unclear, but Channel 4 has the first broadcast rights to new episodes in the UK.

Here's what Channel 4's director of Programmes, Ian Katz, had to say;

“Rick and Morty is one of the most anarchic, ingenious and original shows around and the breakthrough animated hit of recent years. I’m thrilled that it’s coming to Channel 4 and E4.”

Turner's Pierre Branco added;

“We are incredibly excited to be partnering with Channel 4 to bring Adult Swim’s eclectic mix of weirdly wonderful and surreal shows to audiences here in the UK. In this unique collaboration with Channel 4, we are creating a branded destination that will reach fans, new and old, across TV and VOD, building on the huge success of Adult Swim in the U.S.”

Fans of Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland mischievous creation were rewarded for their patience waiting for Adult Swim to renew the series. Instead of picking Rick and Morty up for an extra season or two, Adult Swim surprised everybody and ordered 70 episodes which will keep R & M on our screens for many years to come.

Rick and Morty will return later this year, hopefully.
