With the release of the sweaty, whispery southern myth drama Ain't Them Bodies Saints, starring Casey Affleck, Rooney Mara and Ben Foster, this week in cinemas, we figured here at Buz that a little game was in order.
We present you 6 bodies, without heads to make it harder to tell, but is each body a saint? Or a sinner?
Play to win, or win to play, the prize is smug satisfaction.
Body 1:
Saint or Sinner?
Body 2:
Saint or Sinner?
Body 3:
Saint or Sinner?
Body 4:
Saint or Sinner?
Body 5:
Saint or Sinner?
Body 6:
Saint or Sinner?
Answers:
Body 1 - Al Capone
Alcohol, gambling, tax evasion, he ran the gambit of organised crime, and also murder. That was probably on the top of the list. Many a sin.
Body 2 - John The Baptist
Not just any old saint, he's the patron saint of Jordan, Puerto Rico, Newfoundland and more, the man gets around with his holy body.
Body 3 - Marianne Cope
The nun costume should have given that answer away, a recent saint, she spent years caring for lepers in Hawaii. Not the worst location for such a horrible disease.
Body 4 - Marv
From Sin City, so it's basically in his blood, and shown in the blood of anyone he kills, which is a lot. He doesn't exist, but if he did, he'd be a sinner.
Body 5 - Jacques Berthieu
How saintly was this man? Before loaded guns he made the cross on his body and bullets missed him. This doesn't happen in Ain't Them Bodies Saints but it would be cool if it did.
Body 6 - Jesse James
An outlaw, a train robber, a murderer. He sinned and became a symbol for American excitement and adventure during his reign. His body, though much adored, ain't saint.
Score
0-1 You ain't no saint, and I certainly wouldn't put faith in you answering the titular question, Ain't Them Bodies Saints?
2-4 Nice work, did you play it randomly? There's some solid bragging rights in this one.
5-6 Ok, you're either a saint or a sinner, and by that I mean you cheated. Or it was too easy, in which you are committing the sin or showing the heck off.
Ain't Them Bodies Saints is out in cinemas on September 6th.
