Kevin Smith Working On Horror Anthology Movie

Despite announcing his retirement from making movies once he was finished on Clerks 3, it appears there’s a little gas left in the tank for podcast king Kevin Smith as he’s announced a new horror anthology he’s working on with writer Andy McElfresh.

In what Smith calls “99 pulse-pounding pages of what’s essentially SModCo’s Creepshow”, going under the title of ‘Comes The Krampus’ the project will feature four tales of terror which will see his friend and collaborator Jason Mewes and Smith’s loving wife Jennifer Schwalbach directing segments of the movie.

Ain't It Cool broke the story and here’s what Kevin Smith himself put out on his website:

"It took us less than a month, but Andy and I have finished the screenplay for a flick we’re calling COMES THE KRAMPUS! It’s 99 pulse-pounding pages of what’s essentially SModCo’s CREEPSHOW, with four terrifying tales stitched together by a freaky framing device. It was a blast to write and totally new to me, as I never actually wrote a screenplay WITH someone else before.

And now, to extend the spirit of collaboration even further, I’M GONNA CO-DIRECT THE FLICK WITH THE SMODCO FAMILY! Andy McElfresh will direct the “The Krampus vs. The 3rd Grade” episode (SO fucked up), Jason Mewes (yes – THAT Jason Mewes) will direct the “Hitler’s Krampus” episode (twisted period piece), I will direct the “Mask Maker” episode (the Gothic horror piece), Carol Banker will direct the “The Proposal” episode (which is f***ing nuts), and Jennifer Schwalbach will direct “The Bad Babysitter” – which is the framing device that holds the whole mess together. Jordan Monsanto will produce for SModcast Pictures and the twin SModCo cherries on the top of this scary sundae? I’m gonna force my Bro Scotty Mo(sier) to act in it and Babble-Meister RALPH GARMAN will feature in every episode!”

Kevin Smith recently wrapped on his horror thriller Tusk starring Michael Parks, Haley Joel Osment and Justin Long and is hoping to get started on Clerks 3 on April 7. Currently the plan is to go straight into Krampus as soon as his farewell to the Quickstop is done and dusted. In 2012 Smith stated he was retiring form making movies as he didn’t believe he could bring “anything new to the game”, poppycock Mr Smith you got plenty of new things to bring to the game which you proved with Red State so please don’t retire anytime soon.
