Now You See Me 2 won’t appear in cinemas for another year yet, but Lionsgate are wasting no time getting another sequel into development. Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer made the announcement although no specific were revealed.

“We’ve already begun early planning for ‘Now You See Me 3.”

See, I told you there were no specifics. Now You See Me was a surprise smash hit back in 2013 and conjured up more than $350 million worldwide. Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine all reprise their roles for next year’s part two. Only Isla Fisher is missing from the line-up as she opted not to return, Lizzy Caplan will take her place as one of The Four Horsemen magicians. Daniel Radcliffe also joins the cast playing Michael Caine’s mischievous son.

The theatrical arm of Lionsgate recently reported its fourth quarter earnings, according to Variety the studio netted $19.6 million a figure that is 60% lower than the same time last year. Before the doom mongers monger their doom, this can be explained by the fact that Lionsgate released fewer theatrical projects over the last 12 months compared to the previous fiscal year. The box office performance of Johnny Depp caper Mordecai was an unexpected disaster, costing $60 million to make the movie only recouped $30 million worldwide. Still, it’s not all bad news, Lionsgate TV generated record profits and they plan to release 14 movies theatrically over the next year. Amongst those 14 releases are the final Hunger Games movie and the penultimate Divergent sequel Allegiant.

Directed by Jon M. Chu (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) Now You See Me: The Second Act (still not loving that subtitle) is released on June 10, 2016.
