The twisted Netflix horror series Hemlock Grove will close its doors and bring the story to a fitting conclusion with the next batch of ten episodes. Starring Famke Janssen, Dougray Scott and Bill Skarsgard, the Netflix original has drawn mixed reviews from critics but has developed a loyal (if modestly sized) fanbase. Executive producer Eli Roth was thrilled to get the chance to complete the journey to the sinister town.
“We are so grateful to the fans of Hemlock Grove, who have championed the series so intensely over two seasons. We are looking forward to taking the last and final season into some dark and unexpected places, and to giving viewers the killer finale you’d come to expect from Hemlock Grove.”
Charles "Chic" Eglee took over as show runner for the recent second season and he’ll be staying on the tell the final chapter of the story.
“We are delighted that our fans have invited us back to explore the fiendish recesses of the human condition for another season. Knowing it will be our last gives us the opportunity to go out in a mushroom cloud of clever and soul-shattering mayhem. See you soon on the twisted streets of Hemlock Grove.”
Unlike its fellow Netflix originals Arrested Development, Orange is the New Black and House of Cards, there’s been no awards glory for their first foray into horror programming. I’ve watched both seasons of Hemlock Grove and whilst it’s undeniably well made, I’m still not entirely sure I know what’s going on. Hopefully, all the answers will arrive next year when the final season debuts on Netflix.
