Netflix has renewed its 70s set animated comedy F is for Family for a fifth season, but it's a bittersweet renewal as we'll be saying goodbye to the Murphy family. Created by Bill Burr and Mike Price, F Is For Family landed on Netflix back in 2015, introducing us to Murphy family and the antics of their overstressed Dad, Frank (voiced by Burr).

Mixing outlandish humour with heartfelt drama, F is for Family is going to be sorely missed as it's not really comparable to other animated shows. Much like Bojack Horseman was in a league of its own, F is for Family is another fine example of Netflix's commitment to adult-themed animation. While it might have Family in the title, it's worth a mention that this isn't an animated series for kids. Speaking about the renewal and the show coming to an end, here's what Bill Burr had to say;

“Thank you to all the fans that watched this show. Thanks to [executive producer] Vince Vaughn, Peter Billingsley Victoria Vaughn, Ted Sarandos and all the INCREDIBLE writers, performers, animators, editors and musicians that made this show happen. Special thanks to the Captain of the Ship: The great Mike Price! I love all you guys!”

Co-creator Mike Price added;

“Working on this show with the great Bill Burr, Vince Vaughn, and our amazing cast, writers, producers and crew has been the greatest joy of my life, and I’m thrilled that we get to do one more season with the Murphys. I’ll be forever grateful to everyone at Netflix, Gaumont and Wild West who let us share this stressed-out, foul-mouthed and loving family with the world.”

Featuring the voices of Laura Dern, Justin Long, Debi Derryberry, Sam Rockwell, and Allison Janney, all four seasons are available to stream on Netflix with the fifth and final season due sometime next year.
