NYT Presents An Audience With Helen Mirren in June!

Helen Mirren made the news last weekend by leaving the Gielgud Theatre in London, in full costume as The Queen herself to scold some rather loud drummers. it made the news, it made me smile and I just loved Helen Mirren as an actress all the more for it!

The National Youth Theatre has teamed up with Helen Mirren and the hit play The Audience currently playing at the Gielgud theatre, London to put on an 'Audience With' an interview with the acting institution herself focusing on her career as a whole. The National Youth Theatre presents: AN AUDIENCE WITH HELEN MIRREN

MONDAY 10 JUNE, 2.30PM - THE GIELGUD THEATRE, LONDON

The National Youth Theatre of Great Britain (NYT) will hold a fundraising ‘Audience with Helen Mirren’, on the set of her current hit West End show The Audience.

Dame Helen Mirren, who is a former NYT member, last week won the Olivier Award for Best Actress for her performance as The Queen in The Audience, which is directed by Stephen Daldry and written by Peter Morgan.

Paul Roseby, Artistic Director of the NYT, will interview Dame Helen on stage in front of an audience at the Gielgud Theatre, and she will also be answering questions from current NYT members.

One of Helen Mirren’s earliest roles was that of Cleopatra in an NYT production of Antony and Cleopatra. In her career since, she has won an Academy Award and multiple Golden Globes, Emmy Awards, Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards and BAFTA Awards, as well as an Olivier Award.

Paul Roseby was appointed Artistic Director of the NYT in 2004. He is also a former member of the NYT acting company.
