It is with the sad news that the Pokemon family loses one of their own. Eric Medalle ( 42) died in a freak accident when a tree fell on his car in Seattle. It was reported that the veteran designer who is responsible for some of the early work on the Pokemon brand. The tragedy occurred while his toddler daughter ( 2) was in the back seat of the car. She sustained minor injuries but it is with sadness that Eric was pronounced dead at the scene. He leaves behind a loving wife and his two daughters.

Eric who had invaluable to the company worked on Pokémon Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, X, Y, Black, White and was responsible for a lot more. He had his hands in the creative of many aspects of the Pokemon brand and we should be thankful for his creativity. 

Friends and family of Eric have started a crowd-funding project on www.youcaring.com in order to send Eric's two daughters to college when the time comes. His wife, a teacher and the two girls have always been the centre of Eric's life and being educated has always been important to the family.
