Taika Waititi’s (What We Do In The Shadows) Hunt For The Wilderpeople is a strong contender for the best film of the year with its delightfully unique charms. Newcomer Julian Dennison nearly steals the show as wayward youngster Ricky Baker, with screen legend Sam Neill turning in an Oscar-worthy performance as the cantankerous Uncle Hec.
Waititi's next project is something of a departure with the currently filming Thor: Ragnarok, and Sam Neill has just confirmed his involvement in the highly anticipated trilogy closer.
"Oddly enough, I’m not really allowed to say this, and I can’t tell you what it is. I did a couple of days on Thor, just before I came over here. I had to sign all sorts of things that say if I say anything else, Marvel’s Secret Agents, and they are lethal, will come and get me, and probably my children as well”.
Aside from the revelation that the man once known as Dr. Alan Grant is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Jeff Goldblum already part of the cast, we might have a Jurassic Park reunion on our hands. I say might as it remains a mystery if Neill's character shares any scenes with Goldblum's Grandmaster.
Thor: Ragnarok marks Chris Hemsworth's fifth appearance as The God of Thunder and will bring the Thor trilogy to an end. There's no need to panic as Hemsworth is set to star in Avengers Infinity War and its as yet untitled sequel.
Tom Hiddleston is back to cause more mischief as Loki and Mark Ruffalo brings The Hulk into the mix. Also starring Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban, Thor: Ragnarok is released in the UK on October 27, 2017.
