Ken Boyd is just your average under achiever trying to get by in life but Ken Boyd has just been released from a mental institution and readjusting isn't as easy as he thought it would be. Creating some therapy of his own, the people he believes have ruined his life and prevented him from achieving his potential begin to die in violent and unpredictable ways.

Add to that a new arrival in his life and Some Guy Who Kills People isn't as straight forward as you may think.

Ken Boyd played by Kevin Corrigan is struggling with issues in his life, issues from the past that pushed him over the edge and into a psychotic break. Ken as a character though is as unremarkable as his life thus far which is very much the intention of writer Ryan A Levin because who would suspect the guy of being the only killer in this sleepy little hollow?

Some Guy Who Kills People isn't actually about the murders either, in fact the deaths in this film are short, sharp and really nothing compared to the interactions between Ken and his mother (Karen Black), The Sheriff (Barry Bostwick), Irv (Leo Fitzpatrick), Stephanie (Lucy Davis) and Any (Ariel Gade).

It's his relationships of varying degrees between these people that shape him into the killer or man he is today. In fact the exchanges between Kevin Corrigan and Karen Black as mother and son are fantastic; Karen is so amazingly spot on in her sarcastic delivery that it makes her scenes stand out from the rest of the film which is slow moving, average but endearing with it.

Perhaps average is the wrong word because the film is a truly a good watch if not slightly tacky, the characters are well rounded and their interactions though comedic are very honest to the point of believable. The actors from Ken Boyd, Karen Black right through to the young Ariel Gade are exceptional when it comes to their interactions, the whole thing seems organic in structure and it flows right through to the end.

It's a tragic look at a man's life who was pushed too far and decided to push back in all the wrong ways. Some Guy Who Kills People isn't horror, it's more of a comedy drama charting the demise of a loser who deserves every chance to better himself but can't seem to get over the past that haunts him.

Even when people come into his life who make him happy, his secret, his violent and dark secret risks destroying everything he has, which isn't much.

Some Guy Who Kills People is funny, entertaining and a little bloody to boot but it really is worth your time!

It's not exactly a film you'd think would leave you with a warm hearted smile on your face at the end... awwww
