The first ever live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, has finally set a launch date for Disney+, or to put it another way, The Mandalorian will be available when Disney+ launches in November. The long-awaited Disney streaming service promised it would have must-see originals for the launch day, but nobody was expecting The Mandalorian to be amongst the first wave of exclusives.

Created by Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Jungle Book), The Mandalorian will serve as a bridge between the original trilogy after the Empire was defeated, but before The First Order (as seen in the Force Awakens onwards) was formed. Starring Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, and Carl Weathers, the series is one of the most anticipated originals in a very long and intimidating list coming our way on Disney+. The names behind the camera are just as impressive with episodes directed by Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, and Deborah Chow.

In case you didn't already know, Disney+ will be available in America on November 12 offering a wide range of movies and TV shows from its vast catalog. In addition to the catalog of beloved classics, Disney+ will be the home to a wealth of new TV shows including exclusives from Star Wars and Marvel. Star Wars Clone Wars has been revived for a seventh season, and there's a Rogue One prequel series centered on Cassian Andor ( Diego Luna). If the events of Avengers Endgame had you missing some of your favourite characters, well, Disney+ has just the tonic you need. We might not be seeing some of the Avengers again, but we will be seeing lots more of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, Loki, Scarlet Witch and Vision (WandaVision).

The four Disney+ shows are all at various stages of development, but it is believed that WandaVision and Falcon & The Winter Soldier will be the first two titles to hit the service. Captain America Civil War villain Daniel Brühl, and Emily VanCamp (Sharon Carter) were recently confirmed to be reprising their roles for Falcon & The Winter Soldier. Now that The Mandalorian has a release date, we should know more about what other originals will be available for the launch, and when the rest of the world will be able to subscribe.
