Adam Scott, Jane Lynch, Ken Marino, Martin Starr, Ryan Hansen and Megan Mullally will be popping their bowties back on for the long-mooted revival of cult classic Party Down. Created by Rob Thomas, John Enbom, Dan Etheridge, and Paul Rudd, the short-lived sitcom charted the lives of six aspiring actors who moved out to Los Angeles to pursue their dreams, but take a pitstop working for the Party Down catering company.

While not a massive hit at the time, the well-received sitcom garnered a cult following, but after two seasons, Starz opted to bring the party to an end. Back in 2012, there was some meaningful talk of a potential movie, but by 2015 discussions to make a film had been abandoned. Cut to six and a bit years later, and Party Down is back. Speaking about the long-overdue revival, Starz President Jeffrey Hirsch had this to say;

“After more than 10 years, we’re excited to have the cast — many of whom are now hugely popular, award-winning stars — return to don their pink bowties and head back to the party. The fan demand for a Party Down revival is clear, and we look forward to what Rob, Paul, John, Dan, and now Adam will do as they bring this special project and these hilarious characters back to life.”

Now, there's no escaping the fact that there is one original cast member who cannot return for the revival, and that's Lizzy Caplan. Sadly, due to her commitments on the new Paramount+ series Fatal Attraction, Caplan cannot reprise her role as Casey Klein. That said, if Wet Hot America Summer First Day of Camp could film all of Bradley Cooper's scenes in a day, there is an outside chance that Caplan might make a cameo.

Production on the six-episode Party Down limited series will start early in the new year, with the show will land on Starz sometime over the summer. Both seasons 1 & 2 of Party Down can be streamed on StarzPlay.
