While Microsoft Game Studios has promised to deliver up to 14 new titles within the Xbox One's first year in service, UBISOFT have stepped into the ring two offer up an additional six next-gen titles to add to that number including the next installment of Assassin's Creed and the long awaited hacking adventure, Watch Dogs.

Following on from the Xbox One's announcement earlier today, Ubisoft quickly stepped up to let fans know that Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag and Watch Dogs will be available on Xbox One later this year. Ubisoft also announced that these titles will be among at least six other Xbox One titles released in the system's first year.

“The next generation of consoles will reinvigorate our industry and make it possible for us to deliver incredible new entertainment to gamers,” said Yves Guillemot, co-founder and chief executive officer, Ubisoft. “Our teams are using the innovations in connectivity, immersion and social gaming included in Xbox One to create original and memorable next-gen gaming experiences.”

In addition to the titles on offer, Ubisoft will deliver a mixture of new episodes of existing franchises and some new IP's thrown into the mix. More information is due to be announced at E3 in June. It looks like Xbox One has thrown down the gauntlet to its rival PlayStation 4 and the battle has begun.

I know which camp I'm in... time to start saving the pennies!

Is it me or is anyone else hoping that Watch Dogs (image above) will pick up your twitter settings and actually place the account details and lives of your friends in the game? It would be a nifty addition to see your friend pop up in the city you're living in!
