Alex moved to Berlin in 1933, during the period of the Weimar Republic. In search of his place in the world and his sexual identity, he becomes the first non-surgical transsexual in history. This sadly happens during the rise of National Socialism, a social upheaval that has transformed the capital of sexual freedom into the most repressed country of all time.
