Bette Davis and Leslie Howard are outstanding in this powerful film. Philip is a medical student when he becomes obsessed with a Cockney waitress. Intent on taking him for all he's worth, she keeps leaving him, only to return when she needs money. Soon his career and happiness is threatened.
