Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill reunite for another undercover mission in the sequel to the hit 2012 comedy. Principal photography has just begun on 22 Jump Street which will see our likable heroes graduate to go undercover at a local college.

Movies based on cult TV shows aren’t always a recipe for success, on paper a big screen version of the hit Johnny Depp series might not have seemed an obvious choice to revive but a sharp script and the brilliant chemistry between Tatum and Hill made 21 Jump Street a $200 million hit. Producer Neal H. Moritz is excited to reunite the cast and the directing partnership of Phil Lord and Chris Miller;

“We were all so thrilled by the irreverent humor and the chemistry between Channing and Jonah as we sent them back to high school in the first film. So, of course, we just had to send them to college.  It’s also great to have Chris and Phil back at the helm.  From the get go they have had the perfect pulse on the material, and have created an unforgettable cop buddy team in Schmidt and Jenko.”

Although no specifics about the plot have been reveled, the official press release showed that Tatum and Hill are quite literally in unison regarding their feelings towards sequels;

“We are grateful to our friends at Sony and MGM for letting us do another one. We’re proud to be working alongside Phil, Chris, Neal, Ice Cube, Korean Jesus and the rest of our amazing crew and cast. As we all know, sequels are ALWAYS better than the original. Every single time. This will be no exception. How are we still saying the exact same words at the same time?  This is crazy!  Jump Street!”

Hopefully 22 Jump Street will be just as enjoyable as the first one, we’ll find out June 13 2014 when the movie is released.
