When Agent Carter returns to our screens next year, she’ll be back kicking HYDRA butt for a slightly extended second season. Hayley Atwell has confirmed that CBS ordered a 10 episode run for Agent Carter’s second set of covert missions. Speaking at the Comicpalooza Q & A, Atwell gave a few hints about the direction of season two and revealed the show will relocate to Los Angeles.

"What was very exciting is, in a second season she's grieved over Steve, and she's now about to embark on a new adventure in her life. So she's in a much better place, so in terms of where she is it's going to be a lot lighter for her, there's going to be more humour to her and more warmth. She's not struggling so much with her identity.

I also think the showrunners really want to move it forward. So it's going to be set in LA and with ten episodes it's going to be a very glamorous, dark world of 1940s Los Angeles. I think it might be touched upon a little bit about her background, but I think we want to move it forward, so the audience feel like we are taking them on a new journey.”

The first season took place in New York, a common fixture of the MCU so a move to a sunnier climate will make for a refreshing change of pace. Agent Carter filled in for SHIELD during its mid-season hiatus, this still seems to be the plan although the extra episodes for Carter might cause SHIELD to take a longer break. Currently, us Brits are still without a broadcast date for the first season or even so much as a whiff of a DVD release. Agents Of SHIELD goes out on Channel 4, and it was expected that Carter would follow suit, we’ll keep you posted on when we can expect season one to arrive on our shores.
