Ahead of the full trailer being released this Thursday, three teaser trailers for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 have been unveiled. Before we get too excited the three teasers combined are barely 30 seconds and we see little more than the new look Spidey outfit, however it does come with a previously unmentioned subtitle, The Rise of Electro.

Marc Webb’s sequel finds Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) struggling to keep his promise to stay away from Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), this becomes nigh on impossible with the arrival of two new villains Rhino (Paul Giamatti) and Electro (Jamie Foxx). Recently Sony have hinted that potential spin-off movies featuring characters from the Spider-Man universe are in the early stages of development. This will likely see the long talked about Venom spin-off get made which has been on the cards since the character was short-changed in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3.

I must confess to being a little indifferent towards the reboot of a franchise so fresh in the minds of audiences, I’m far more excited about the sequel as hopefully we will be taken into new territory rather than recycling what worked about Raimi’s trilogy. The promise of Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti as the two main villains is a more than enough to get me into the cinema, also starring Sally Field, Martin Sheen, Chris Cooper and Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be spinning into cinemas April 18 2014.
