Fox's X-Men is all set to create "The New Mutants". Two of the new generation of mutants have been cast and they will be: Anya Taylor-Joy and Maisie Williams.

About Anya Taylor-Joy and Maisie Williams

Taylor-Joy will play "Magik", a youthful sorceress who is the sister of the X-Men bruiser Colossus (who appeared in Deadpool). She is best known for her roles in the 17th Century horror story "The Witch" and most recently, "Split". Williams, who is well known for her role as Arya Stark in Game of Thrones on the HBO, will depict "Wolfsbane", who attempts to accommodate her powers with her religious convictions.

The New Mutants

The New Mutants movie will be directed by Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars). The script was written by Josh Boone with Knate Gwaltney. The producers of the movie are Simon Kinberg and Karen Rosenfelt.

The main focus of the film would be in an assorted group of adolescent mutants who are transitioning. It will be based on the Marvel Comic that was released in 1982. This project will have a "John Hughes meets Stephen King" vibe, as multiple sources have said.

Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod have created The New Mutants, the first X-Men comic spinoff. The rest of the mutants include Brazilian ladies man Sunspot, Native American Danielle Moonstar, a Kentuckian code-named Cannonball along with an alien named Warlock.

The movie will be released April 13, 2018. The Hollywood reporter, who revealed the casting of Taylor-Joy and Williams, revealed that this movie is going to start production in July. Uproxx reported a year ago that Taylor-Joy and Williams were being looked at for The New Mutants, and Williams revealed to EW a few weeks later that she would love to be a part of this movie.

After a wide search, Fox has chosen two great actors. The X-Men Universe was in the need of some fresh faces. We have faith that the rest of the roles will be filled out be other great actors. We just have to wait and see who they are.
