Bill Hader and James McAvoyare in talks with Warner Bros to join the cast of It Chapter 2. The sequel to last year's monster hit will focus on the now grown-up (and disbanded) Loser's Club as they return to face Pennywise for a final showdown.

As long as negotiations go to plan, James McAvoy will play the older version of Bill Denbrough (as played by Jaeden Lieberher in Chapter One), and Bill Hader makes young Finn Wolfhard's dream come true as he'll be starring as the adult Richie Tozier.  Wolfhard previously named Hader as his ideal choice for the grown-up Richie, and the universe agreed. Other cast members have voiced their wishlistcasting for their older counterparts, Chosen Jacobs (Mike) wanted Chadwick Boseman, and Jeremy Ray Taylor (Ben) thinks Chris Pratt is a perfect fit. As for the older Eddie Kaspbrak, Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation), and Jake Gyllenhaal frequently appear on fan lists.

Without wishing to spoil anything for those of you that haven't read the book or seen the 1990 mini-series, now is the time to look away if you want to remain 100% spoiler-free. The older Stanley Uris only has a limited role to play in the story as he doesn't make the return trip to Derry. So with that in mind, the potential for a great extended cameo to fill the shoes of Stan is bursting with possibilities. I've seen Tom Hiddleston's name pop up on many fan wishlists, but I love the idea of Seth Rogen, no I'm being serious. When Mike calls Stan to tell him that It has come back, Stan doesn't take the news very well. Seeing somebody like Rogen with that infectious laugh and chipper outlook go to a very dark place would certainly leave an impact. He might be a tad on the young side at 36, but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea.

Speculation aside, McAvoy and Hader will join the now officially confirmed Jessica Chastain who will be playing the adult Beverly Marsh. Production on the eagerly awaited sequel will kick-off over the summer, so we should expect more casting news on the rest of the Losers Club imminently. It: Chapter 2 is set for release on September 6, 2019.
