Hot on the heels of its Academy Award victory Frozen has become the 18th movie to make over $1 billion worldwide.

This marks the seventh Disney film to make it into the club, Frozen’s success has given the mouse house its first animated film without Pixar to make over $1 billion at the box office. 2015 will certainly bring to new Disney films into the club with the release of Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age Of Ultron and JJ Abrams is bringing us back to a galaxy far far away with Star Wars Episode VII.

Currently Disney has the most billion dollar films under their belt with the nearest rival being Warner Bros with a respectable four entries. Hard to believe but there is an even more exclusive club for successful movies that look down and subtly mock the members of the $1 billion club, to date only two films have made it into the James Cameron club and crossed the $2 billion mark. The first of three Avatar sequels arrives in cinemas late 2016 and Cameron is readying the mammoth back-to-back production as you read these very words.

Frozen is out on DVD, Blu Ray and 3D Blu Ray on March 31st.
