The first poster from Universal Pictures Les Miserables has Landed and it echoes of the superb first poster that launched the musical back on the 8th October 1985. Since then the musical has been on an incredible journey which has seen West End talent become stars, seen stars seek out the famous roles of Marius, Fantine, Eponine, Jean Valjean and other iconic theatre characters that have wormed their way into the hearts of audiences around the world.

Now Les Miserables makes it's way to the big screen in the US this coming Christmas, followed by a January 11th 2013 release nationwide in the UK and I'm prepared for it to be the movie event of the year!

We already showed you the extended preview of the film last week and it seems like Director Tom Hooper is taking risks with his all star cast by making them sing live on set to give a truer performance. It's a risk but it appears to be paying off...

I'm excited, I'm scared... This is make or break for Big Screen musicals, it's a huge risk by Universal and I hope it pays off so more amazing musicals like this make their way to the Big Screen like Lloyd Webber's Sunset Blvd, Willy Russel's Blood Brothers, Next To Normal.... etc etc... there's so many deserving of Studio attention!
