Though this TV show kills a beloved character in every season but we cannot deny the fan following of the Game of Thrones. From the revival of Jon Snow to the death of Hodor, the 6th season of Game of Thrones was high action packed and emotional. Hardly anyone was able to control their tears when one of the most beloved characters Hodor died in the final hours of the last season. But that is what the show based on the novels of George R.R. Martin does best.

HBO's Game of Thrones is one of the most popular television series on the face of the earth right now and it is one of the costliest too. But no matter how much money it takes to prepare the set of the series, every sequence of the show has been a pure masterpiece. The show is all set to return for its 7th season this year and I am equally excited and scared for the show. Why am I scared? No, I have not become a lunatic but I do not want to see another of my most favourite characters die, especially Tyrion Lannister.

The show that premiered its first season in 2011 is ready to air its eighth and final one in 2018. Yes, though it is very hard for us fans to accept the fact but no more Game of Thrones after the eighth season. But there are lots of speculations going on among the fans and we have been teased with several hints on a spinoff series of GoT by the HBO spokespersons. The possibilities of a spin-off series have also been recently reflected in the words of the Programming President of HBO, Casey Bloys. He said that he does not have any script ready yet but they are planning to do a spinoff. It will be more of a prequel series probably based on the Tales of Dunk and Egg by George R. R. Martin which is set 90 years before the current Game of Thrones timeline. Be it a sequel or prequel, we just want more of the Game of Thrones story.

There are also several conjectures going on among the fans regarding the number of episodes in the final season. Since we already know that the seventh season of Game of Thrones will have just seven episodes instead of ten so we cannot stop guesstimating about the episode count of the final season. Though the Programming President of HBO, Casey Bloys was unable to clear our mystery totally but it has been already confirmed that the final season will have at least six long episodes. Moreover, some other people from the GoT production unit have suggested that we only have fifteen hours of the show left. The speculations will continue and we will have to wait to know further.

The pattern that the Game of Thrones script writers will follow, probably they will choose to kill off all the major characters in the series finale. No matter what happens in the future, we cannot wait to see what the seventh season of the show brings us. Tune to HBO to catch all the latest episode of Game of Thrones when it returns at the end of the summer this year.
