Just when you thought the sequel to 2015's Jurassic World couldn't get any bigger, those talented filmmakers have only gone and convinced Jeff Goldblum to reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcom.
That's right, everybody's favourite adventure loving mathematician who laughs like a pirate will be back to lock horns with a variety of genetically modified dinosaurs once more. Having survived the events of the first Jurassic Park and its sequel (The Lost World), Dr. Ian Malcom wrote a bestselling book (God Created Dinosaurs) which briefly featured in Jurassic World.
While it was a massive success at the box office, many fans were disappointed that none of the original cast showed up in Jurassic World. Well, that's not strictly true as B.D Wong returned as Dr. Henry Wu, but it didn't fill that Sam Neil/Jeff Goldblum sized hole. Jurassic Wolrd 2 will remedy this error by featuring 100% more Goldblum magic than its predecessor, and that can only be a good thing.
Reports recently surfaced that the sequel will contain an epic underwater sequence involving a submarine and at least one Mosasaurus. In case you've forgotten, the Mosasaurus was that giant sea-dwelling dinosaur that ate that poor PA in the bleakest scene in Jurassic World.
Directed by J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls), Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will be back, and the latter has promised that there will be no more running away from dinosaurs in high heels. Also starring B. D. Wong, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Ted Levine, Geraldine Chaplin and James Cromwell, Jurassic World 2 is unleashed June 7, 2018.
Meanwhile, Jeff Goldblum joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe as The Grandmaster in Thor: Ragnarok, Chris Hemsworth returns for his final solo Thor movie on October 27.
