When you think of unlikely heroes you may not think of Ratchet and Clank. This funky pair has been the focus of video games, and now they have their own movie out later in 2016. The much-anticipated movie will follow Ratchet (a made up creature called a Lombax) and Clank ( a robot) who will take on an evil mastermind called Chairman Drek in a battle to save the universe. The film is much anticipated due to the popularity of the games which were mainly released for PlayStation. James Arnold Taylor (voicing Ratchet) will team up with the equally talented David Kaye (voicing Clank) in the upcoming film.  There will also be big voices with Sylvester Stallone and Rosario Dawson lending their voices to characters in Ratchet and Clank.

Ratchet and Clank were first released in 2002. The franchise was released for PlayStation and notable PlayStation 4 where it gained its fan following. In the film Ratchet is turned away from joining the Galactic Guardians and so, sets off on an adventure to prove himself .The Ratchet and Clank games are and known for their over the top action scenes as well as weapons that are crazy and outlandish. There have been 13 games in the franchise and the upcoming movie will in no doubt follow the same blueprint and give us action, humour and a gun that will shoot electric squid or something similar. From the trailer, the film looks bright and provides us not only with a great set of characters but also worlds that viewers may have encountered in the game series.

While I have never played any Ratchet and Clank games I do know that the two characters are much loved and that the film will draw in both players of the games ,as well as kids and adults alike that enjoy animated action. The film is set for release in April and I really do hope that the film lives up to the hype that has been circulating around feline- like hero and his robot buddy.
