Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger duke it out in an action packed new clip from their forthcoming movie Escape Plan.
After rekindling their bromance on the Expendables films the two titans of action reunite for Mikael Håfström’s (The Rite) new movie. Stallone plays Ray Breslin, a man who makes his living designing and breaking out of maximum security prisons. When he’s convicted of a crime he didn’t commit he teams up with fellow lifer Emil Rottmayer (Schwarzenegger) to escape from the unescapable tomb that Breslin built.
The plot might sound a little close to that of the hit TV series Prison Break and Stallone’s 80s classic Lock Up, maybe with a hint of Tango and Cash thrown in for good measure. As familiar as the concept might be, I’m already sold on seeing the two action icons back on the big screen again. As much as I enjoy the Expendables movies it will be great to see Arnie fully back in more than just an extended cameo. His first fully fledged comeback flick The Last Stand wasn’t much of a success, so here’s hopping the Escape Plan will be a breakout hit.
Recent rumours have suggested that Schwarzenegger could be inline for another reunion with reports he is set to play the main villain in James Cameron’s Avatar sequel. The duo have worked together three times dating back to The Terminator in 1984, they reunited on the blockbuster sequel Judgement Day and for the final time in 1994 with True Lies.
Also starring Jim Caviezel, Amy Ryan, Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson with Vinnie Jones and Vincent D'Onofrio, the Escape Plan busts into cinemas October 18.
