The second season of Netflix’s Stranger Things has yet to be officially ordered, but that has prevented series creators Matt and Ross Duffer from getting started. In a spoiler-filled interview with Variety, The Duffer Brothers have announced they have already got a 30-page document brimming with ideas for the continuation of the series.

"We've had those initial discussions of where we might go with it.

We have all this stuff that we just didn't have time for," he added. "We have that whole other world that we haven't fully explored in this season, and that was very purposeful. If there was going to be a season two, we would reveal more of that 30-page document, but we'd still want to keep it from the point of view of our original characters.”

Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, a distraught mother who frantically searches for her missing son, but all is not as it seems as this mystery box series is full of 80s nostalgia, supernatural thrills, and a soundtrack John Carpenter would adore. If you grew up in the 80s or have a fondness for the movies of that decade, then you’ll find Stranger Things a satisfying mixture of all things Steven Spielberg and Stephen King. While it occasionally feels like an extended episode of Amazing Stories, Stranger Things has a lot to offer and I hope its renewal is announced in the very near future.

Having taken a bit of a break from movies in recent years, Winona Ryder puts in an impressive performance as Joyce Byers and following her fine work on last year’s mini-series Show Me A Hero; I hope Ryder continues to seek out such high-quality material.

All eight episodes of Stranger Things are now available to stream on Netflix.
