A trailer with some action footage, even though it’s in Russian, will keep the fans happy and show Gal Gadot isn’t as terrible as everyone feared.

There has been some people disagreeing with the casting choice for the protagonist. Gal Gadot, a model, was picked to be Wonder Woman instead of someone else, with maybe a little more fighting experience. Even Ronda Rousey wanted the part, but after seeing her performance in The Expendables 3, we are somehow relieved that didn’t happen. Instead, Gal Gadot trained hard to become like the famous amazon in the comic-books, and judging from the little action sequences this new trailer has, she will not disappoint.

Only the general outline of the plot is known. Diana (Gal Gadot), princess of the Amazons (a matriarchal society, living in the magical Themyscira city in Paradise Island) leaves her homeland to stop the World War going on outside, after an American pilot, Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) crashes his plane on the island.

Although the whole cast is public knowledge, most of the characters are not. General Antiope, Diana’s aunt, is played by Robin Wright, now famous for her role in House of Cards (2013). The part of Queen Hippolyta, Diana’s mother, was given to the Danish actress Connie Nielsen, known for playing Lucilla in Gladiator (2000). The character of Etta Candy, a secretary who befriends Diana, is played by Lucy Davis, an English actress remembered for her role in Shaun of the Dead (2004). Every other main character except them was casted in undisclosed roles. These talents include David Thewlis, loved by everyone for his performance as Professor Lupin in the Harry Potter franchise, Elena Anaya, who plays Vera Cruz in celebrated movie The Skin I Live in (2011) and Danny Huston, known for his role as Stryker in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009).

Even though the new trailer is in Russian, the action sequences and costume details can be appreciated by everybody. The release date is set to June 2nd, 2017. It has been so many years since a Wonder Woman movie was first announced but never made. We bet all fans are thrilled this time it’s actually happening!
